Raisin River Race Cancelled for 2010

The news didn't come as a big surprise but there will no doubt be a lot of disappointed enthusiasts from across Ontario. Press release as follows:

April 15, 2010
2010 RAISIN RIVER CANOE RACE – CANCELLED
For the first time in 38 years, one of the region’s most popular local events is being cancelled due to very low flows in the Raisin River. Organizers for the Raisin River Canoe Race had to make the difficult decision of cancelling the 2010 event.
In 2006, the race had a record low flow of 120 cf/s. As of April 15, the flow is recorded at 85 cf/s and is expected to drop throughout the day. Unfortunately, there is not enough rain predicted in the forecast to increase the flows from now until Sunday.
